About Minor League Football
Minor league football has always been played in Dallas. Minor league football, formerly known as semi-pro football, has been around longer than the NFL. As a matter of fact, the NFL got its humble beginnings as a result of semi-pro football. The city of Dallas is one of the first cities to ever have fielded a minor league football team. Before there was the Dallas Cowboys, there was the Dallas Texans, a semi-pro football team. Although the team wasn’t very successful, it was a part of the beginning of what is now known as one of the world’s most prolific forms of entertainment, the National Football League. They were eventually purchased by Lamar Hunt, one of the famous Hunt Brothers of Dallas, and moved to Kansas City, Missouri. That team became today’s Kansas City Chiefs.

Since then, there have been numerous attempts to establish a successful minor league team in the Dallas-Ft Worth metropolitan area. Unfortunately, no team ever took root. That is no team until the Dallas Diesel.
